Aquatic centre trip

On Friday the 9th of December, all of Mapua school went to the Richmond Aquatic Centre and Rabbit Island.

When we arrived at the Aquatic Centre, we hopped out of our cars and went in. Lisa told us all the rules, and then we went in and got changed. At first we all had free time and we went in the spas, the warm pool, the wave pool, and the lane pool. Then the senior syndicate  had to go into the lane pool for some races and relays. The first thing we did was year races. Year Six together, Year Five together,  and so on. My year, Year 6 , won!  Then it was kids vs teachers. And I think you can guess who won, kids of course! After all of that excitement, we had free time again. Gemma and I were swimming around together the whole time, and it was really fun.

And here is Maddie with the other half of our trip, at rabbit island.

Rabbit Island
We arrived at Rabbit Island and hopped out of our cars. Once we had eaten our lunch, Mr Gully gave us another pep talk before we could go on the beach. We walked to the beach. At the beach we made sand castles, dug to China, played touch rugby or frisbee, or just ran around with some mates. While I was there I got buried as you can see in the photos below. Suprisingly the sand was really warm, well kind of. Three quarters of the time Tegan spent digging the hole. When the hole was finished it was up to my waist. Here are some cool photos from the day. We hope you like them. I know lulu and I do. To see my photo go down five rows to the far left.
