A superb effort at the Nelson Y1 - 6 Science Fair has seen Mapua School receive 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze and 2 highly commended placings. The standard of presentation and knowledge of the subjects obviously impressed the judges - the students were interviewed twice and spoke with confidence and conviction.

Placings:
Gold - Ashleigh
Silver - Bryn and Laurian
Bronze - Gemma
Highly Commended - Julius and Jacob

Thanks must go to parents who assisted, inspired, persevered, encouraged and motivated all students in both Rooms 6 and 7 to complete their investigations to such a high standard.

The following report was written by 2 students who entered the science fair:

We got our scince fair progects in and they got judged by Mr Taylor and Miss Milligan. These are the people who got in from Rooms 6 and 7: Ashleigh, Bryn, Laurian, Louisa, Gemma, Libby, Marly, Julius and Jacob. On Monday all of those people went to Stoke Memorial Hall to represent Mapua school. We got judged by two judges and it took a very long time. The next day we found out if we won a medal. From Mapua School we got 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze and 2 highly commended. What a fantastic result!
